It is inevitable. Twilli’s swift descent into toddlerhood would eventually take it’s toll. On her. On us. On our well-meaning friends who assume “she’s ALWAYS like this”.

With less than a month until her second birthday, Twilli’s personality is every bit as LOUD as any long-time toddler. But her size and her relative CLINGINESS remind us that she’s still a one year old.

I don’t remember the transition being this tough with au-teen.

Tell me about your trials, tribulations, and triumphs of TODDLERHOOD.

WalMart is evil. ;-P

I bought this lovely Storch wrap, “INKA”, months ago, with the specific purpose of doing a Twilli Pie podegi – wrap conversion. But it sat in my closet because I was a chicken to chop it up. And, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do with the body. I knew I would include lots of purple and blue. But somehow, it got lost in the shuffle.

In reality it was lost, along with my inspiration! I let myself get so bogged down by the whole job search shananigan.

Then one day I was feeling like myself and put some fabric scraps together. In that moment, I got my groove back.

Design is my floodlight on the sometimes dark and winding road of life!

And the added benefit to all this is that Ive already worn Twilli more today than I have in the last MONTH. :-)

Someone in my new circle quoted Steve Pavlina, “Follow your bliss; and FOCUS on what makes you cry.”

I took a couple of video clips. So this pic is just a teaser. ;-P

My brother’s girlfriend told me about the FREE PLAY AREA, sponsored by The Rush, at West Town Mall. So we decided to check of out while Au-teen was at youth group. It is great! The carpeted floor is bouncy enough to pad little falls, and the equipment is perfect for pint-size tots. :-)

Oh and there is a DIAPER CHANGING STATION off to the side as well. Yay for corporate sponsored fun!

We will definitely be back.

is born…

I have been meaning to bake a cake since I moved. The way I see it is that the heat from the oven is likely more cost-effective than the natural gas heat that works so hard in our drafty apartment. LOL

So today I finally made a yummy red velvet cake. ;-)

Twilli LOVED it!!! She kept saying, “Yuuuuum!”.

It was a mess of dishes. But her enjoyment made it all worth it!

I guess you could say I was a fairly early adopter of recycling. I remember gathering loads of soda cans to take to “that place where they pay you pennies for them”. ;-)

And even when I was gathering my recycling to take to the recycle place 10 years ago, many thought I was wasting my time. But it has always been important to me. (Maybe I will write a diatribe on my interpretion of how that trait prolonged my natural packrat urge. But for now, we will stay on topic.)

So back 10-12 years ago I started trying to recycle when I could. But most curbside services had pretty strict limits. And ANYTIME I wanted to recycle mixed paper and/or paperboard, I had to drive it somewhere.

Then most of my time in Miami/Miami Beach was very UN-GREEN! At least at the time. It was VERY sad to me. Especially when I drive by the ONLY mountains in South Florida… landfills!

I had better luck in Fort Lauderdale. But only recently was able to include mixed paper.

(to be continued)

Twilli has grown very attached to our dear family friend, Linda.

Today Twilli visited while mommy was helping with a Sprint customer service ordeal. (That may be some fodder for Twitter.)

They had a tea party, took the dogs out, and even played with the kitties that we used to catsit in Miami!

I never knew Twilli would enjoy Ethan Allen style furnishings. But she was walking around the rooms as if she’d designed the place! :-) It was so cute.

And Linda had so much fun she’s volunteering to babysit her again!

Yay!
