(recycling this from my post on TBW. oh, and please forgive the all lowercase.)

time flies – im at 29 weeks now. we have a name picked out, but its kinda a surprise. we have been trying to buy a house since APRIL! (DF and i still live 20 miles apart, which has been a challenge) we are under contract for a fannie mae homepath deal (post-foreclosure/REO) home. but the red tape is getting old. please cross your fingers that the real estate gods smile upon us as we already had to move the closing date from 7/28 to 8/26. the closer it gets to october, the more i dread MOVING!

on the bright side, i have a pretty darn nifty NB cloth diaper stash and hopefully will be getting a didymos CGW wrap [for those who dont speak "wrap-ese", this is a particular natural woven cotten wrap sling that is supposed to be the softest, "marshmallowy" wrap thats perfect for newborns] as well. oh, and ive SCORED on clothes from consignment sales and thredUP! (i’ll post a link to my thredUP soon, then we can each get a $5 credit!)

oh, and decided to use this as a justification to finally buy a DSLR, which im LOVING! (now i need to swap my computer hard drive out so i can upload fluff pics.) :woot:

due to my age & overweight, i took and minorly failed the early glucose screen (1hr) last month. so i took and passed 3hr. but i still had to take ANOTHER 3hr at the regular time (26-28 wks) a couple of weeks ago. they said, “no news is GOOD news” and i havent heard back. so glad thats over.

the puff has been doing somersaults and kung fu in there, i think. and last week he was experimenting some weird horizontal-feeling yoga. O_o it’ll be interesting to see the contortions as he grows. (i too tend to have small babies, so they have lots o’ room to plAy. lol)

3rd trimester is DEF here though. the “hollow pit” hunger has been replaced by “heartburn hollow pit” and red sauce is not doing me any favors. :-/ oh well, better than nausea! myback is stsrting to feel it too. but i picked up a belly/back support brace band thingie today at another consignment sale. excited to try it.

oh, and i finished up my summer classes this week. YAY!

I hope that all of you lovely moms out there had a wonderful day! I know I did!! My beloved took us to check out West Elm (finally!) and a lovely courtyard featuring some Romero Britto art, in Midtown Miami. The Miami Design District & surrounding area has REALLY built up since I left at the end of 2005. I have always said I’m ahead of my time! But sometimes, I wish it had been booming when I was being paid to hang out there! ;-)

We spend the rest of the afternoon playing with Twilli. She is so active and mobile now. And she LOVES motion!!! I think she may end up pursuing dance or gymnastics or acrobatics or SOMETHING like that!

Check out the beautiful photos of our day on Elliott’s site.

Then the grand finale… hubby made a SCRUMPTIOUS chocolate cake for me!!! *8-D Not only was it moist, yummy, and well equipped with chocolate fudge icing, it was GORGEOUS! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man! (Other dads, take note! Your wives will thank you!)

The cake was just what I needed! I had been jonesin’ for sugar, chocolate, and junk food a lot lately. (It’s not the munchies either!!) hehehe Actually it’s hormones. 9 months after Twilli’s birth, my body is finally getting back into normal operations. So now I can relate to Au-teen and his friends on even another level! lol Thankfully, I am not plagued by acne and b.o. though. ;-P

And I’m not even late because EVERYDAY IS MOTHERS DAY!!! ;-)

In the name playing catch-up I am posting some FRIDAY FUN FINDS that have been sitting around waiting to be posted for a month! lol There’s no time like the present! Right?

sock monkey slippers and carseat strap cozies This week we have SOCK MONKEY SLIPPERS with memory foam in the soles and CUSHY STRAPS plush kitty strap pads for your carseat, stroller, etc.

here you see a better detail of the texture The slippers are actually quite comfy! And they look cute on my feet as well! We have tile and hard wood (bamboo to be exact) floors. So I rarely go barefoot around the house. It’s nice to have something other than flip-flops to wear around the house. I got these slippers on clearance at Target for $6.99. They retail for $12.99. I love to find the deals!

aren\'t they just too cute!?

We haven’t tried out the strap cozies yet. They are very soft plush with plenty of padding. I’m sure Twilli will find them quite tasty as well! And they were a great buy for $3.99! I got them at a wonderful local baby “everything” store called BabyLove This store is very well stocked with many items that you would not find in a big box store. I LOVE supporting local and privately owned biz!

BE HERE NOW. This phrase, made popular years ago by philosopher Ram Dass, made an immediate impression on me.

I discovered it when I started looking into Zen Buddhist philosophy. I was first learning these principles when my son started school, and was flagged as “easily distracted”. I too, was facing the problem of being pulled in what seemed like a million directions. I was told by a friend that I should try meditating. I briefly took up a formal (yet infrequent) meditation practice.

Then I moved to Florida and lost touch with the community of people with whom I shared this philosophy and practice. Slowly, but surely, I have found myself among people of like minds.

But the idea to BE HERE NOW is something we continually must remind ourselves, and our peers, to take refuge in.
One the greatest REWARDS for BEING HERE NOW is the priceless enjoyment of a child, who is quickly growing and changing. Here’s an example. Your newborn will never be newborn again.
So get even more enjoyment watching your kids grow and play. And take LOADS of photos and video!
